Every morning, I wake up with a purpose. I pull on my work boots, slip into my gear, and prepare to face another day, just like many women who have chosen to carve out their space in industries that are often dominated by men. The grind is real, and we all know it. But there’s something about being a woman in the workplace that often feels like you have to work harder to be seen, heard, and respected.

For years, women in trades have been overlooked, underestimated, and pushed to the sidelines. We’re expected to show up and deliver the same level of performance as our male counterparts, but the reality is that we often have to do it while battling stereotypes, preconceived notions, and sometimes even outright discrimination. It’s exhausting. Yet, we continue to rise—every single day.

I know the feeling of being dismissed before I even open my mouth. I’ve been there—on a job site where my skills are questioned simply because of my gender. I’ve faced that moment when a colleague assumes I’m not capable of handling a task, only to prove them wrong time and time again. It’s frustrating. It’s infuriating. But it’s also what fuels me. It fuels so many of us.

The truth is, women in trades, in any field, are doing the work day in and day out. We are showing up. We are proving ourselves. And despite all the hurdles, we keep going. We keep waking up and grinding because we know the value we bring. We know that the world is changing, and we’re part of that change. Every hammer we swing, every blueprint we read, every decision we make, we are carving out a place for ourselves. 

But it’s not just about the work. It’s about creating an environment where we feel seen and heard. It’s about having the support and tools that are tailored to us—not just the men who have traditionally dominated the workspace.
